Solar Power in the Philippines
Solar power is the conversion of sunlight into electricity, either directly using photovoltaics (PV), or indirectly using concentrated solar power (CSP). Concentrated solar power systems use lenses or mirrors and tracking systems to focus a large area of sunlight into a small beam. Photovoltaics convert light into electric current using the photoelectric effect.
In this YouTube Video the speaker suggests of a south orientation of solar panels when installing it in the Philippines, in which, the Sun moves from East to West in the southern side. The degree of inclination of the panels should be 15 degrees plus our latitude location from the equator.
Davao is 7 degrees latitude plus 15 degrees = 22 degrees
Cebu is 10 degrees latitude plus 15 degrees= 25 degrees
Manila is 14 degrees latitude plus 15 degrees= 29 degrees
Pagudpud is 18 degrees latitude plus 15 degrees= 33 degrees

PlayPump Water Systems
The PlayPump Water System uses the energy of children at play to operate a water pump. It is manufactured by the South African company Roundabout Outdoor. It operates in a similar way to a windmill-driven water pump.
At a cost of approximately $14,000 USD, it is suitable for Primary Schools, particularly in areas where water is accessed from deep underground (up to 100 meters) using a bore.
There are more than 1800 PlayPump systems in sub-Saharan Africa, providing clean drinking water to more than one million impoverished people. On September 20, 2006, at the Clinton Global Initiative, First Lady Laura Bush announced a $16.4 million public-private partnership to install more PlayPump systems—the beginning of an effort to install 4,000 pumps to provide water to up to 10 million people in Africa by 2010. The announcement includes $10 million from the U.S. government, $5 million from the Case Foundation, and $1.4 million from The MCJ Foundation.
Roundabout Outdoor is a for profit organisation with a social mission, co-founded by Trevor Field and Playpumps International a non-profit organisation.[citation needed] In 2007 Playpump water system was nominated for the prestigious National Design Award. It is aimed at solving one of the most pressing problems of clean water in semi-urban and rural areas of Africa - Water.

What is Architecture?
As a student of Architecture the best way I could define such a wide subject is by quoting three of its greats:
“Architecture is the learned game, correct and magnificent, of forms assembled in the light.” –Le Corbusier
“The mother art is architecture. Without an architecture of our own we have no soul of our own civilization.” –Frank Lloyd Wright
“Architecture is a science arising out of many other sciences, and adorned with much and varied learning; by the help of which a judgment is formed of those works which are the result of other arts.” –Marcus Vitruvius Pollio
However, by law, according to RA 9266, Article I, Section 3 (1) "Architecture" is the art, science or profession of planning, designing and constructing buildings in their totality taking into account their environment, in accordance with the principles of utility, strength and beauty.
On a personal note, architecture is a manifestation of human intelligence through forms and spaces by which its usefulness enhance the quality of our lives. From the day we were born in a hospital up to our dead bodies in a mausoleum, architecture surrounds us and influences our actions that defines the very way we live.

Pamela Meyer: How to spot a liar
1. Lying is a cooperative act
- A lie has no power by its mere utterance, its power emerges when someone else agrees to believe the lie.
- You get lied to because you agreed to get lied to
- Strangers lie three times between the first 10 minutes of meeting
2. We are against lying ...and covertly for it
- The more intelligent the species, the larger the neo-cortex, the more likely it is to be deceptive
- Babies will fake a cry, 1 year old learns concealment, 2 yr olds bluff, 5 yr olds lie outright and manipulate through flattery, 9 yr olds master of the cover up, by the time you get to college you'll lie 1 out of 5 interaction to your mom, a deception epidemic
- Post truth society
Liespotting
1. Verbal Dodging
2. Body Language Slips
Our world is transparent, with blogs and social networks people made a choice to live lives that are public.
Over-sharing is not honesty, our manic texting and tweeting can blind us to a fact that the subtleties of humanity decency, character, integrity is still that matters, is always going to matter.
World's Largest Palace by a Filipino Architect
Considered by Guinness World Records as the "World's Largest Palace" with 200,000 square meters of floor space. The Istana Nurul Iman houses the Sultan and the seat of the Brunei government. It is located a few miles south of the country's capital on the banks of the Brunei River.
Leandro V. Locsin, a re-knowned Filipino architect was commissioned to design the massive structure. "Istana Nurul Iman" means Palace of the Light of Faith and its architectural motifs are consistent thereto. The Islamic influences was clearly portrayed in the utilization of golden domes, also, the curved and vaulted roofs gives it a malay distinction. It was completed in 1984 with a staggering bill of around $1.4 Billion USD.
Luxurious living would be an understatement to describe such a habitation with the palace's 1,788 rooms and 257 baths, a banquet hall to accommodate up to 5,000 guests, a mosque accommodating 1,500 people, a 110-car garage housing custom-made Ferraris, Bentleys and Rolls Royces, an air conditioned stable for the Sultan's 200 polo ponies, and 5 swimming pools.
However, accessibility is limited, the palace is not open to the public except on the annual Islamic celebration of Hari Raya Aidilfitri and during the 10 days of the Ramadhan period for the Bertedarus prayer gathering.
The plan was very well-thought of complimenting its size and delivers in its whole totality what really compromises a palace.

Sugarfree - Burnout
O wag kang tumingin
Ng ganyan sa ‘kin
Wag mo akong kulitin
Wag mo akong tanungin
Dahil katulad mo
Ako rin ay nagbago
Di na tayo katulad ng dati
Kay bilis ng sandali
O kay tagal kitang minahal
Kung iisipin mo
Di naman dati ganito
Teka muna teka lang
Kailan tayo nailang
Kung iisipin mo
Di naman dati ganito
Kay bilis kasi ng buhay
Pati tayo natangay
O kay tagal kitang minahal
Tinatawag kita
Sinusuyo kita
Di mo man marinig
Di mo man madama
O kay tagal kitang mamahalin
