The Bamboo School was the winning entry of the Millennium School competition. It was designed by Malaysian architect Eleena Jamil and was constructed in Camarines Sur for Nato High School. The goal of the competition is to create green, sustainable and weather-resilient architecture.
Front Elevation
Aesthetically, it has triggered my fancy for Filipino architecture (ironic that the architect was Malaysian). The earth colors compliments the landscape and has a very rural feel.

Interior
It has a very open design which is good for natural ventilation but still it is a classroom where users are there to learn. The question is that if it could serve its primary purpose of being a classroom if the acoustic quality of the rooms are detrimental to learning because of the openness of the design.
Classroom Interior
As the photo above portrays natural lighting is at optimum, however, my concern is at the side elevation having openings that direct sunlight may disrupt students' comfort level at certain parts of the day. Putting curtains may be a solution.

All in all, the design was amazing! I believe that the construction cost was at its minimum and that we could duplicate this prototype for other schools in the rural setting.
